San Francisco, September 11th-12th 2007 Over 170 executives from across the US, UK, Europe and Latin America met at the recent Carbon Markets USA conference in San Francisco. Officially supported by the California Energy Commission, this inaugural event for the US market featured high-level debate, discussion and analysis from a selection of leading players in government, industry and key associations involved in the region’s growing carbon market. The two day event was marked in its PowerPoint light format which enabled critical dialogue between our expert panel members and maximized Q&A opportunities for delegates. In depth sessions covered policy development, updates on voluntary carbon markets and offset projects and debated the challenges surrounding sustainable agriculture and forestry amongst others. Highlights included a keynote presentation from Terry Tamminen, former advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger and an address by Commission Jeffrey D. Byron from the California Energy Commission. “It was a well-conceived and executed conference. I was able to spend some valuable time with some good people, as well as learn a few things I didn’t know. My benchmarks of success.” Angus Duncan, Oregon Carbon Allocation Task Force (speaker at Carbon Markets USA) “Pacing was outstanding. I really liked opportunities for networking, which is my primary reason for attending.” Wes Miller, Evolution Markets (delegate at Carbon Markets USA)
