They engineered, procured & constructed the El Nasr pilot solar steam plant, the world's first process solar steam plant, which we continue to operate since 2003. Lotus Solar also conduct solar energy research with the EU, training & energy efficiency audits.

What do you consider to be the most interesting developments and biggest challenges in the CSP market at this time?
In our region, Developments -> Arabian Peninsula planned projects. Challenges -> government policy & public awareness.
What global policy and finance mechanisms are essential to support the growth of the market?
Properly & correctly factoring in the true cost to the environment of the use of conventional fuels, especially when running commercial feasibilities.
Where is the most exciting activity happening in CSP and why?
Clearly Spain, the USA & hopefully the Arabian Peninsula & Egypt will follow soon. Spain's recent royal decree has certainly triggered project development.
What is the most interesting technological development that you have come across and why?
Hydrogen production using CSP.
