Solar South Africa returns for the 2nd year

In December 2011, 28 Independent Power Producers succeeded in the first round of the South African Department of Energy's request for proposals – 20 of these were solar developers, with 631.53MW allocated to PV and 150MW to CSP.

With the second window now closed in March and the deadline for financial close for first round bidders is fixed for June, the summer is set to be a busy time complete with a variety of challenges, from submitting financial proposals and fulfilling local content requirements to acquiring environmental permits and working with local suppliers and partners.

The 2nd Annual Solar South Africa 2012 is designed to address these challenges head-on. With practical presentations, discussions and updates from all the key industry players including successful and prospective project developers, international investors, Eskom and policy-makers including the Department of Energy and NERSA, as well as environmental permitting authorities, local partners and many more.

Whether you're a developer looking for investment and local partnership opportunities, or an investor seeking new prospects in the country, Solar South Africa 2012 is the ideal forum to get up-to-date with the latest industry news and developments, network with your peers and make the contacts you need to get ahead in this exciting new market.
