The 4th Annual Solar Turkey 2012 welcomed over 120 delegates in discussing the rapidly developing Turkish PV market.

Day 1 welcomed the Turkish International Renewable Energy Congress plenary sessions, uniting
over 500 solar, wind and geothermal professionals coming to hear the latest policy updates from the
General Manager of the General Directorate of Renewable Energy, General Manager of the TEIAS and Board Member of EPDK. This was followed by an in-depth discussion on renewable financing, led by senior representatives from the
European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Enel Green Power and the World Bank.
Sureyya Yucel Ozden, President of the World Energy Council Turkish National Committee opened proceedings in the solar stream, which welcomed senior level speakers from both national and international market players. The mood of the room was cautiously optimistic, as issues relating to the licensing process for solar projects and availability of government support were tackled by speakers from
Ires Enerji, the EPDK, Cleanglobe, Akis Eenrji, Polat Enerji and Borusan.
International firms including
juwi Solar, Abengoa Solar, LTi REEnergy and Ferrania Solis discussed the experience of project development and risk reduction across Europe and its applicability to the Turkish market. The presidents of the
Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek and Italian PV associations then went onto clarify the situation in the surrounding market and potential for collaboration to drive the market forward.
This year’s exhibition space sold out and next year’s Solar Turkey is only anticipated to grow- we hope to welcome you to TIREC in 2013!
