The inaugural BioPower Generation Americas event and 4th edition of the BioPower Generation series brought together the key players of Latin America’s biomass power generation sector. Over two days speakers and delegates networked, questioned each other and talked about the potential of biomass power generation in highly interactive debates.
Huge land resources and the increasing problems with hydropower make biomass an important component in future energy portfolios. Cogeneration of sugar cane bagasse is receiving a lot of support and is seen as a big opportunity to secure Brazil’s energy supply. Currently the biomass market is focused on Latin America but there are tremendous opportunities in exporting biomass and increasing investments within the next few years.
The conference was co-located with the Carbon Markets Americas conference which allowed the attendees of both events to network and share their knowledge. We would like to thank all the speakers and participants for the excellent contributions and for making these two days such an interesting exchange of views and information. |
