The 5th edition of the Carbon Markets Asia conference once again provided an excellent networking platform for the carbon community in Asia. The event featured a pre-conference workshop for project hosts as well as two breakout streams examining Programmatic CDM and Sustainable Forestry. Over the two day conference experts from all along the value chain discussed the current status and post-2012 developments of the CDM in Asia, speakers also looked at the socioeconomic benefits generated by Asia’s carbon markets and how the CDM can be used as a poverty reduction strategy. An important discussion was held on how we can improve the communication between the key stakeholders in the carbon markets – verifiers, projects hosts and investors interacted with the UNFCCC to debate the way forward.
More than 90 attendees from throughout Asia as well as the US and Europe benefited from the multiple session streams and interactive discussion.
