Building the Partnership for Sustainable Energy
1st
REEEP Regional Meeting in the CEE and Turkey
30
September 2004, SAS Radisson Hotel, Budapest |
organised
by

REEEP
(Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership)
is a coalition of progressive governments, businesses
and organizations that are committed to accelerating
the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency
systems (REES). Initiated at the Johannesburg World
Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in August 2002
by the UK Government, REEEP provides an open and flexible
framework within which governments work together to
meet their own sustainable energy objectives according
to their own timetables (for more information about
REEEP, please find attached paper). The Regional Environmental
Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) had been
selected as the Regional Secretariat for REEEP activities
in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Turkey.
The
objective of the meeting is to present and discuss the
direction of the activities by the CEE Regional Secretariat
and receive contribution and feedback from the participants.
The event is to bring prospective partners from CEE
and Turkey together including those from central and
local governmental authorities, industries, financial
institutions, academia, NGOs and facilitate discussion
among them.
Participation at the meeting is free of charge,
to register email JBalint@rec.org
