Event Summary

The 5th Biogas conference and Farming Futures workshop brought together the key players of Europe’s biogas sector. Over three days more than 100 attendees networked, questioned each other, exchanged experiences and learned about the potential of biogas in Europe in highly interactive debates.

The sector has experienced a big push owing to new legislation and government investments in UK biogas research and test sides.  On-farm anaerobic digestion and biogas applications such as electricity generation, heat recovery and transport are growing quickly and the UK can still learn a lot from countries like Germany, Sweden and Austria.  The Farming Future pre-conference workshop gave an excellent insight into the on-farm anaerobic digestion opportunities for farmers and covered all points that should be considered when setting up a biogas project.

Speakers and delegates from 13 countries made this conference a very successful networking event.
