Green Power Conferences 2nd Annual Solar Power Generation conference was held on 23-24 February in Barcelona; this was the 5th edition in our Solar Global Series.   We were delighted to welcome over 100 attendees to the event who looked at the changing landscape for solar with sector consolidation, delayed investments and shifting business models some of the key issues.  However despite these challenges the outlook for the sector was seen as very bright and the overall conclusion was that different solar technologies will prosper in different situations, with traditional PV, Concentrated PV and Concentrated Solar Thermal all set for growth.  The panel discussion on finance & investment in Solar Power Generation was one of the liveliest discussions of the conference with experts from KfW IPEX-Bank, LBBW, West LB, New Energy Finance & Leonardo Venablers discussing how banks are taking smaller shares of finance deals and being increasingly selective but concluding that robust offerings will still get backing.
